Richard Taylor

I have recently been selected for the Herefordshire county cricket squad after going to trials.  I have done training with the squad all winter and our fist match (if the the weather is good) will be a warm-up game against the Herefordshire under-10's.  To play cricket you have to have to have cricket whites, pads (leg and thigh, maybe) and a cricket bat.  I will be playing at a lot of fixtures if I carry on in the squad including a final tournament held in Ipswich (Suffolk).

Football
Harry Wright.

I am a member of Leominster Minor Colts football club.  We meet every Thursday for an hours training session.  We play in the under 11's Herefordshire league.  During the football season we play a match every Saturday.  Out of season our manager organises friendly matches occasionally.  The extra training I get with Leominster Minor Colts helps me to be a better footballer and it has been a great place for me to make friends.

Hockey

I play hockey for Ludlow Hockey Club.  There is Hockey coaching on Wednesday and Thursday nights at Ludlow Leisure centre at 5.30 p.m.  I have played for the ladies second team a few times and am taking part in a Badgers (under 13's) tournament, I have also been to Shropshire Youth Games and took part in an under 13's development course run in Shropshire.  I get to meet people from lots of different schools and everyone is really friendly.

Tennis

Katie Trounson plays Tennis in Leominster and Malvern, she has recently played in a couple of tournaments:

On Thursday the 7th April 2005 I played in a tennis tournament at Leominster. Charlie (my partner) and I won all of our games in the first round so we went though to the semi- final. In that we won 6-1.Then in the final we played against a year nine and a year eight. It was a great match and finally after a tight sudden death point we won 3-1.

On Friday the 8th April I played again at Leominster. This time it was singles! The tournament was called ‘The Road to Wimbledon.’ As only two girls entered we mixed in with the boys. I came second in my group out of five other players. One hour before the end I played Milly (the other girl.) It was quite a tough match but I won finally 6-2, 6-3. Next I’m going to Malvern to represent Leominster in the County finals.
